Bail granted to seven people including Piumi Hansamali's son

Colombo Additional Magistrate Nuwan Kaushalya today (20) ordered the release on bail of seven suspects, including the son of a model who allegedly attacked a three-wheeler driver in the Kalapaluwawa area of ​​Rajagiriya.

The Magistrate, who set two surety bonds of Rs. 200,000 each for each suspect, also ordered that the parents of the minor suspects should appear as sureties.

The suspects, who were presented before the court under cover by prison officers, were taken for an identification parade and the witness identified all the suspects as those present at the relevant location.

A friend of a model's son had met with an accident three months ago when he was riding a motorcycle when he collided with a three-wheeler in the Rajagiriya area. Following the incident, the Welikada Police had conducted this investigation into the incident in which the suspects, including the model's son, attacked the three-wheeler driver.

Attorneys Achini Umayangana and Imashi Senadhira appeared on behalf of the suspects and requested bail for the suspects.

The Magistrate, after considering the facts presented, granted bail to the suspects and ordered the police to present the progress of the investigation to the court on June 8.
