The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a heavy fine of PKR 5 million (approximately US$ 18,000) on each member of the national squad following their disappointing exit from the T20 World Cup.
The disciplinary action comes after the team failed to secure a spot in the semi-finals, marking the fourth consecutive time Pakistan has missed out on the knockout stages of an ICC Men’s event.
According to sources within the board, the decision was driven by the team's underwhelming performance throughout the tournament, which has drawn severe criticism from both fans and former cricket authorities in Pakistan. The PCB aims to send a strong message regarding accountability, discipline, and the necessity of maintaining high performance standards on the global stage.
