Businessman and Brother-in-Law of 'Karandeniya Sudda' Killed in Ambalangoda Shooting

AMBALANGODA, SRI LANKA — A businessman who sustained injuries in a shooting incident that occurred this morning (04) near the Ambalangoda Urban Council premises has succumbed to his wounds upon admission to the Balapitiya Base Hospital.

Police confirmed that the deceased individual was a businessman.

Assailants Fled in a Car According to the Police Media Spokesperson, initial investigations have revealed that the shooting was carried out by a group of individuals who arrived in a motor car. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the attack.

Victim Linked to Organized Crime It is reported that the businessman killed in the incident is the husband of the elder sister of 'Karandeniya Sudda,' a known member of an organized criminal gang. This link suggests the shooting may be connected to ongoing underworld conflicts.
