A cameraman attached to a private media organisation has been arrested by the Kompannavidiya Police in connection with the alleged assault on a security officer of former President Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The incident occurred yesterday (30) when former President Ranil Wickremesinghe was leaving the Fort Magistrate’s Court following court proceedings. At the time, the cameraman covering the event had allegedly assaulted one of his security officers.
The assaulted security officer was subsequently admitted to hospital for treatment and a complaint had been lodged with the police.
