Colombo’s inflation rises to 7.3% in July

The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, has increased to 7.3% in July 2026, up from 6.8% recorded in June 2026.

According to the Department of Census and Statistics, food inflation rose to 6.3% in July 2026 from 3.6% in June 2026.

Meanwhile, non-food inflation decreased to 7.8% in July 2026, compared to 8.4% recorded in June 2026.
