
Construction of a new Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit at the Mannar District General Hospital commenced today (16) under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The project, funded through a grant from the Government of India, is being implemented at a cost of Rs. 600 million.
The new facility is expected to further expand healthcare services available to the people of Mannar and will be equipped with modern medical facilities.
Construction of the Accident and Emergency Treatment Unit is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2028.
