(Colombo) The Cabinet has approved a proposal to distribute the fertilizer subsidy to farmers through a digital system, utilizing QR codes or similar mechanisms.
The new system aims to ensure that the subsidy is delivered on time and used correctly for cultivation purposes. The Ministry of Agriculture will identify eligible farmers through local officials.
The joint proposal was submitted by the President and the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Lands, and Irrigation. (NewsCenter)
