The Disaster Management Centre (DMC) has reported that 31 disaster-related deaths have occurred across the country during the past 10 days due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions.
According to the DMC, from November 17th until today (27th), 17 districts and 79 Divisional Secretariat Divisions have been affected by the disaster.
- Affected Population: A total of 4,008 individuals belonging to 1,158 families have been affected.
- Missing Persons: The DMC also announced that 14 persons remain missing.
- Injuries and Displacement: Ten individuals have been injured. 131 persons from 41 families are currently housed temporarily in 5 safe centers, while 472 individuals from 136 families are staying at relatives' homes due to the damage.
Provincial Breakdown of Deaths:
The human fatalities reported due to the disaster are broken down as follows:
- Uva Province: 18 deaths
- Sabaragamuwa Province: 7 deaths
- Central Province: 4 deaths
