
Former Minister Johnston Fernando, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), has been granted bail.
Johnston Fernando was arrested by CIABOC today (04) in connection with an ongoing investigation.
He was arrested over allegations that he caused a loss of approximately Rs. 7.9 million to the government.
According to the allegations, Fernando removed a company that had been legitimately selected to supply chairs for the Polgolla Mahinda Rajapaksa Auditorium and subsequently awarded the contract to a company allegedly associated with him.
