
Former Minister Rohitha Bogollagama, who was arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) and produced before court, has been remanded by the Colombo High Court.
He was ordered to be remanded in custody until the conclusion of the trial, Ada Derana reporter said.
High Court Judge Rashantha Godawela issued the order.
The order was made following submissions presented by the Bribery Commission regarding the matter.
Bogollagama was arrested by officers of the Bribery Commission this morning (07) based on an open warrant issued by the Colombo High Court in connection with an ongoing case.
The arrested former minister was later produced before the Colombo High Court.
He had been arrested by the Bribery Commission after open warrants were issued for his arrest due to his repeated failure to appear in court for a case filed against him by the Commission regarding corruption allegations.
