The High Court of Chilaw has sentenced Jagath Samantha, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) member of the Arachchikattuwa Pradeshiya Sabha and brother of the late State Minister Sanath Nishantha, to five and a half years of rigorous imprisonment.
Delivering the verdict, Chilaw High Court Judge Nayomi Wickramasekera found the accused guilty of three charges filed against him.
