Konda Ranji alias Ranjith Kumara, a member of a criminal gang, has been arrested in Dubai while trying to flee to Italy.
The suspect was arrested along with his wife and children by the security forces in that country, who later released the wife and children.
Konda Ranji alias Ranjith Kumara is said to be wanted by the police in connection with the murder of the Coordinating Secretary to former Minister Mangala Samaraweera.
The suspect is currently being held at the Dubai Police Headquarters.
Meanwhile, it is also reported that Konda Ranji alias Ranjith Kumara is a holder of a Golden Visa, or a 10-year visa, in the United Arab Emirates.
