The Armani Group confirmed his passing on their Instagram page in September 2025, describing him as a dedicated individual. "It is with infinite sorrow that the Armani Group announces the passing of its creator, founder, and tireless driving force, Giorgio Armani," the statement read.
Referred to with respect and admiration by his employees as "Mr. Armani," he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. The company highlighted his unwavering dedication, noting that he worked until his final days on the company, collections, and new projects.
Over the years, Armani expanded his vision from fashion to encompass various aspects of life, including music, sports, and luxury hotels. The company emphasized his commitment to the community, particularly his beloved city of Milan. Funeral Arrangements
The funeral chapel for Giorgio Armani will be open to the public on Saturday, September 6, and Sunday, September 7, 2025, from morning to evening, at Via Bergognone 59 in Milan. The company also announced that, in accordance with Armani's express wish, the funeral service will be held privately.

Known as "Re Giorgio" (King Giorgio), he was a respected businessman who built a vast empire in the luxury fashion industry. Born in Piacenza, a town in northern Italy, in 1934, he initially studied medicine before entering the fashion world. He launched his own fashion label in 1975 with his late partner, Sergio Galeotti.
