Former United National Party MP Naveen Dissanayake has been appointed as the Vice President of the party.
It has been officially announced that Naveen Dissanayake has been appointed as the Vice President in accordance with Article 8.1.1(c) of the UNP Constitution for the year 2026.
Accordingly, it is stated that Naveen Dissanayake has been recommended to the Party Working Committee for nomination as the Vice President (Senior) with effect from 3rd January 2026.
Also, in accordance with Article 7.1(a) of the Party Constitution, Mr. Dissanayake is also scheduled to serve as a member of the United National Party Working Committee.
