Over 50 students hospitalised following wasp attack at Trincomalee school

More than 50 students of a school in Trincomalee have been admitted to hospital after being attacked by wasps, police said.

The incident took place at Divulwewa Maha Vidyalaya after a hive located in a school building was disturbed, causing the wasps to attack students on the premises.

The injured students were rushed to the Mahadivulwewa Hospital for treatment following the attack.

Three female students who were reported to be in a serious condition were later transferred to the Trincomalee General Hospital for further medical attention.
