According to the Ministry of Energy, gasoline would be supplied to private passenger transport buses via Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) depots.
The Ministry added that a unique system would be put in place in collaboration with pertinent organizations to supply gasoline for automobiles needed to sustain manufacturing operations and vital services.
In the meanwhile, Minister Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa asked people to control their fuel use in light of the nation's circumstances.
Speaking at a Moratuwa event, the Minister asked people to refrain from needless travel during this time:
"As a government, we want everyone to consider the nation as well as their personal family at this time. Thus, make an effort to rationalize and control fuel use to a manageable level. Manage gasoline consumption sensibly rather than hurrying around believing you have plenty at home, he said.
