The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has granted permission to impose one-hour power cuts from today (19) if the National System Operator (NSO) is compelled to implement demand management measures due to insufficient electricity generation following the unavailability of the Lakvijaya Power Station.
According to the approved schedule, electricity supply interruptions will be implemented across four groups during the evening peak-demand period, with power cuts scheduled between 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
