Renowned model Chulpadmendra passes away

Renowned model Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana has been found dead under suspicious circumstances at a house in Wewala, Piliyandala, the Piliyandala Police said.

The 46-year-old was found dead on a bed at a house belonging to a businessman on Gangarama Road in Wewala.

According to preliminary police investigations, Chulpadmendra had arrived at the house with the businessman in the early hours of today (31), following an event she had organized at a hotel in Battaramulla.

Police said the businessman had attempted to wake her after finding her lying face down on the bed. When she failed to respond, he checked on her and noticed blood on the pillow.

He subsequently contacted the 1990 Suwa Seriya ambulance service. Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed that she had died.

The businessman then informed the Piliyandala Police of the incident.

Police are conducting further investigations into the circumstances surrounding her death.
