Restaurant owner shot dead in Kalutara; wife injured

Police stated that a shooting occurred this morning (9) at a restaurant located along the Kalutara–Nagoda Road.

The restaurant owner was reportedly killed in the shooting, while his wife sustained gunshot injuries and was admitted to the Nagoda Teaching Hospital in Kalutara for treatment.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that two individuals arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and that the shooting was allegedly carried out using a T-56 firearm.

Further investigations into the incident are ongoing.
