The University of Ruhuna has decided to conduct academic activities online for students of the Faculty of Agriculture, with the exception of final-year students, due to the spread of a viral fever.
Reports indicate that approximately 30 second- and third-year students have contracted the viral illness over the past two weeks.
The university administration said the decision was taken as a precautionary measure to prevent the further spread of the illness among students.
The online learning arrangement will remain in effect until this Friday, according to the university administration.
