Rumesh Tharanga clinches gold in Men’s Javelin at Asian Games

Sri Lankan ace Rumesh Tharanga Pathirage clinched the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw event at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan.

Pathirage recorded a throw of 88.55 metres in his last attempt to secure the gold medal.

The achievement marks Sri Lanka’s first gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games.
