Department of Meteorology forecasts several spells of showers today in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
A few showers may also occur in the North Western province.
Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in the Northern, North Central, Uva and Eastern provinces after 2.00 p.m., with fairly heavy showers above 50 mm expected at some places.
The department requests the public to take necessary precautions to minimise damage caused by temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
