
A new set of javelins will be provided to Sri Lankan athlete Rumesh Tharanga for his five damaged javelins, Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage says.
Upon arriving in the island this morning (15), five javelins belonging to him broke and suffered damage while being brought by air.
When questioned about this, Rumesh Tharanga stated that the javelins with which he performed beyond 92 metres were damaged in this manner.
His father stated that their value exceeds Rs. 2 million.
It is reported that he is currently making complaints to the airlines regarding the incident.
