
The Sri Lankan men’s cricket team secured the bronze medal at the Asian Games in Japan today (03), defeating Bangladesh by 63 runs in the bronze medal playoff.
Batting first, Sri Lanka posted 165 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh were bowled out for 102 runs, handing Sri Lanka a comprehensive 63-run victory and the bronze medal.
The achievement marks Sri Lanka’s third medal at this year’s Asian Games, taking the country’s medal tally to one gold, one silver and one bronze.
