Sri Lanka Police says that an anesthesiologist attached to the Badulla Teaching Hospital has been reported missing.
The doctor was on duty yesterday (23) but has reportedly been missing since then.
Police investigations revealed that the doctor’s car was captured on CCTV cameras in the Meegahakiula area, travelling towards Mahiyanganaya.
Further investigations found the doctor’s car last night abandoned in the Mapakada Wewa area near the 17th Mile Post along the Badulla–Mahiyanganaya canal road.
Police said a joint search operation involving the Police and the Sri Lanka Army is scheduled to be carried out in the area today (24) to locate the missing doctor.
