Providing relief to workers who are waiting for an employment contract in South Korea after qualifying for employment on the website, the Korean Human Resources Development Corporation (HRDK) has informed the Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau that the second medical examination, which was previously mandatory when registering on the website for the second year, will no longer be required.
This new decision will be implemented from January 1, 2026.
Workers who meet other qualifications, including the language proficiency test, must appear for a medical examination for the first time before being admitted to the EPS website, and the information of the workers who pass it will be entered on the website. Workers who are still on the website at the end of the first year after being admitted to the website must undergo a medical examination again, and according to this new decision, it is not necessary to appear for the medical examination for the second year, and only appearing for the first medical examination will be sufficient.
This decision has been taken with the aim of increasing administrative efficiency and minimizing the amount of money that job seekers have to spend on medical examinations.
