A protest was held in central London over the removal of a memorial dedicated to Thileepan in Nallur, Jaffna.
The demonstration began outside 10 Downing Street before continuing towards the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).
According to the Metropolitan Police, an estimated 7,000 to 1,000 people took part in the demonstration.
Protesters expressed opposition to the removal of the memorial and called for the issue to be brought to the attention of the British Government.
Organisers said the demonstration was intended to highlight concerns surrounding the removal of the memorial and to urge UK authorities to take note of the demands raised by protesters.
The demonstration drew members of the Tamil community and supporters to central London, with participants carrying placards and taking part in calls for action over the issue.
