Police Discover Chemicals for Ice Drug Production in Kandana House- Video

COLOMBO — Police have successfully seized another haul of chemicals suspected of being used to manufacture the drug 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine). The chemicals were discovered inside a house in the Kandana area, according to a police statement.

Acting on a tip-off received by the Kalutara Crimes Division, police searched a two-story house yesterday (07) evening and found the chemical stockpile both inside the house and on the front yard. The exact quantity of the chemicals is yet to be determined.

Police reported that the house was found abandoned and no suspects have been arrested so far. The owner of the house informed police that the property was rented out on August 11 for a monthly rent of Rs. 150,000. The tenant had reportedly handed the keys back to the owner on September 05.

Officers from the Peliyagoda Crime Scene Investigation Unit are currently examining the scene, while the Kalutara Crimes Division is conducting further investigations. This discovery follows the recent seizure of a massive cache of similar chemicals in Middeniya.
