President Pays Respects to Mahanayake and Anunayake Theros of Malwattu and Asgiri Chapters

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who is currently visiting Kandy to attend the events of the annual Esala Perahera festival at the historic Sri Dalada Maligawa, visited and received blessings from the Mahanayake and Anunayake Theros of the Malwattu and Asgiri chapters this afternoon (27).

Arriving first at the Malwattu Maha Viharaya, the President paid his respects to the Mahanayake of the Malwattu Chapter, Most Venerable Thibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thero, engaged in a brief conversation, and received his blessings.

The President also met with the Anunayake of the Malwattu Chapter, Most Venerable Dimbulkumbure Wimaladhamma Anunayake Thero, and shared a brief conversation with him as well.

Thereafter, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Asgiri Maha Viharaya, where he inquired about the well-being of the Mahanayake of the Asgiri Chapter, Most Venerable Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Nayaka Thero, and engaged in a brief discussion.

Governor of the Central Province, Specialist Dr. Harsha Suranga, was also present on these occasions.
