SriLankan Airlines marks 47th anniversary

Connecting Sri Lanka to the rest of the world, the national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, is celebrating its 47th anniversary today, the 1st of September.

Having taken to the skies back in 1979 under the rather straightforward name AirLanka, it began operations with a grand total of two Boeing 707 aircraft. Since those humble beginnings, it has successfully stamped its name across the international aviation sector, claiming its spot as a leading regional airline.
