Colombo - Electricity unions in Sri Lanka have warned they will intensify their strike if their demands are not met. The unions, who began a "work-to-rule" campaign on the 4th of this month to protest the arbitrary restructuring of the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB), escalated their action by starting a "sick leave" campaign yesterday, which continues today.
According to Kosala Abeysinghe, President of the Ceylon Electricity Board Technicians' Union, if authorities continue to ignore their requests, they will further intensify their ongoing strike.
