Train services on the Upcountry railway line are set to resume today (October 2), following a nearly 10-month suspension, the Railway Department announced.
Railway Transport Superintendent Asanka Samarasinghe said services from Colombo to Peradeniya and Gampola would recommence from today.
According to Samarasinghe, train operations on the Upcountry line had remained suspended for approximately 10 months following the impact of Cyclone Ditwah.
