The Counter-Terrorism and Investigation Division is conducting investigations to arrest three terrorist suspects who are required for their inquiries.
Accordingly, the police are requesting the public to provide any information they may have about these suspects.
It is stated that these suspects have fled their homes and are in hiding.
On July 21, Kiribathgoda police arrested a suspect with a T-56 firearm during a raid.
According to information revealed by that suspect, police said that officers from the Vavuniya Division Crime Investigation Bureau arrested another suspect who was in possession of bombs.
During further investigations by the Counter-Terrorism and Investigation Division based on these two suspects, information about another suspect in possession of bombs and two others connected to the matter was uncovered.
Subsequently, a police team went to the Vavuniya area, where it was revealed that the three suspects had fled their places of residence.
One suspect has been identified as Jeevarasa Sujeepan, 30, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, Neriya Wama, Vavuniya. His national identity card number is 950554215V.
Another suspect has been identified as Ilankai Isaiwinthan, 27, a resident of No. 379, Section 03, Manikk Farm, Set Savam area. His national identity card number is 199836210402.
A third suspect has been identified as Mahendran Yogarasa, 27, a resident of Arali West, Wadukkodai. His national identity card number is 981633881V.
