Eight-hour water cut in several areas in Anuradhapura tomorrow

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has announced an eight-hour water supply interruption in several areas of Anuradhapura tomorrow (22), from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

According to the Board, the interruption is necessary to carry out essential maintenance work at the Anuradhapura Thuruwila Water Treatment Plant to improve the quality of the water supply service.

Areas Affected by the Complete Water Supply Interruption:

Wijayapura Water Supply Scheme: Wijayapura, Paladikulama, Nelumkulama and Kawarakkulama.

Nachchaduwa Water Supply Scheme: Nachchaduwa, Hidogama, Thuruwila and Nellikulama.

Thalawa Water Supply Scheme: Thalawa, Shravasthipura and 2nd Milepost.

Areas Expected to Experience Low Water Pressure:

Anuradhapura Town Phase II

Anuradhapura Town Phase III

The NWSDB has expressed its regret for the inconvenience caused by the interruption and requested consumers in the affected areas to store sufficient water in advance and use it sparingly until the supply is restored.
