(Colombo, Sri Lanka) Member of Parliament Dayasiri Jayasekara today revealed at a press conference in Colombo that social and political activists Iraj Weeraratne and Milinda Rajapaksa have been subjected to threats, with unknown individuals visiting their residences to inquire about them.**
According to MP Jayasekara, an unidentified person on a motorcycle with a temporary number plate visited the home of musician and social media activist Iraj Weeraratne and made inquiries.
Furthermore, a similar individual reportedly attempted to forcibly enter the apartment complex where Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Central Committee member and social media activist Milinda Rajapaksa resides.
Former MP Premnath C. Dolawatta, who was also present at the press conference, stated that these threats are a direct result of the duo's popular YouTube program, "Baithaksalawa."
The press conference emphasized the need for the government to launch an immediate investigation into the matter to ensure the safety of the activists. (NewsCenter)
