Sri Lanka offers support to Nepal amid deadly floods

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives caused by devastating floods in Nepal, extending Sri Lanka’s condolences and solidarity to the affected communities.

In a post on X, President Dissanayake said Sri Lanka stands ready to assist Nepal with rescue and clearance operations following the disaster.

The President said Sri Lanka, which experienced a deadly cyclone 10 months ago, shares in the grief of the Nepalese people as they face the aftermath of the floods.

He conveyed his deepest condolences to the Government and people of Nepal, including President Ram Chandra Paudel and Prime Minister Balendra Shah.

President Dissanayake also expressed solidarity with those affected by the disaster and acknowledged the challenges confronting Nepalese authorities as relief and recovery efforts continue.
