Arson Attack in Manipay: Thugs Torch Three-Wheeler and Motorcycle at Residence

JAFFNA – A three-wheeler and a motorcycle parked inside a house in the Manipay Sandilipay area of Jaffna have been destroyed by fire in a suspected arson attack.

A group of masked individuals reportedly entered the property and threatened the residents before setting the three-wheeler ablaze immediately at the location. The assailants then allegedly rode the motorcycle a short distance away before setting that vehicle on fire as well.

The owner of the vehicles has lodged a complaint with the Manipay Police, stating that the damage caused by the destruction of the two vehicles amounts to approximately Rs. 2.5 million (25 lakhs).

The motive behind the arson attack has not yet been determined. Manipay Police suspect that the crime may have been carried out by a group of vicious assailants due to a personal vendetta or jealousy. The police have launched a full investigation into the incident.
