The Petroleum Corporation has stated that there is no need to create unnecessary fear about fuel.
Fuel is now being issued using the QR code system.
A system is in place to easily obtain the new QR code for those who have the old QR code.
The government says that solutions will be provided this afternoon (15) regarding special issues including the supply of fuel to essential services and agricultural activities.
The QR system can be used in 3 ways.
The first of these is that those who have previously registered their QR code can obtain it by visiting the FuelPass.gov.lk website again.
After visiting the website, New Registration and Login will appear and you will have to proceed through the login and enter your phone number in the relevant field.
There, an OTP number will be received on their phone number, and after recording it in the relevant place, the old QR code will have to be re-issued.
This method covers 80% of vehicles.
The second method is that those who have changed their phone number, vehicle number or vehicle ownership must re-register to obtain a QR code.
The third method is that those who have purchased new vehicles obtain a new QR code for that vehicle.
It is also easy to obtain, and congestion may occur due to a large number of people trying to access the website at the same time.
The Petroleum Corporation states that the congestion will be avoided by this afternoon (15).
Steps are being taken to introduce a fuel permit system for public services and essential services.
A discussion will be held on this issue after 3 pm today (15) and relevant actions are scheduled to be taken after that discussion.
