According to W.P.J. Senadheera, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) in charge of Traffic and Road Safety Range, police personnel have been stationed close to gas stations to handle traffic congestion since the QR code method for gasoline distribution was reinstated.
DIG Senadheera pointed out that the public's needless fear has resulted in severe traffic jams and lengthy lines close to gas outlets. To control traffic, uphold law and order, and limit disturbances to other road users, police have responded by deploying policemen to every filling station.
Senadheera underlined that the public does not need to fear, clarifying that gasoline would be distributed in accordance with the allotment allotted for each kind of vehicle under the QR code system.
